Michael Y.C. Chong, PhD

  • Statistician, Demographer, Scientist
Hi! I’m an applied statistician interested in demography and population health, broadly defined. I recently finished my PhD in the Department of Statistical Sciences at the University of Toronto, advised by Monica Alexander. I worked on developing Bayesian methods for global health estimation problems where data is scarce and unreliable.
Before coming to Toronto, I completed my undergraduate studies in Integrated Science at McMaster University.
I’m on the job market! I’m open to chatting about any kind of applied statistics and data science-y roles. Please get in touch if you think our interests might align.
